제목	164. 영적 가족의 존귀함

내용	164. 창세기 43:27-34 <영적 가족의 존귀함> 조다윗 선교사 요셉은 히브리 형제들과 이집트인들의 식탁을 열면서 왜 세 종류의 식탁으로 분리해 상을 차렸을까? 본문의 말씀대로 이집트인들이 히브리인들과 같이 먹는 일들을 가증이 여겼더라면 이집트 총리대신이 된 요셉이 이집트인들의 상에 앉으면 될 일이다. 감히 이집트인들이 자기 왕의 모든 집안에 총리가 된 요셉의 통치를 받는 상황에서 그를 가증이 여길 수 없다. 요셉은 독상에 앉으므로 과거 자기를 업신여긴 히브리 형제들과 이방 이집트인과 다르게 홀로 독보적인 존재임을 보이기 위해 다른 상에 앉았을까? 아니다. 요셉은 자신의 본향에서 형제들과 함께 먹던 시절이 그리워 정을 억제하지 못하고 상의 경계를 넘어설 자신을 예상했을 수 있다. 이미 베냐민을 본 순간 마음이 무너져 눈물을 쏟은 요셉이 예전에 모든 가족, 형제들과 함께 먹던 상을 본다고 하자, 어찌 그 상에 안거나 서로 음식을 권하며 먹이는 일을 하고 싶지 않겠는가. 만약 정을 억제하지 못하고 이집트인들의 상에 앉았다가 음식을 들어 히브리인에게 권한다던지 이집트인의 상에서 옮겨 히브리인들의 상으로 간다면 이집트인들의 문화적 비위를 손상시키게 된다. 따라서 요셉은 자신 안에 있는 히브리 가족들과 같이 먹고 마시던 시절이 그리워 그 상에서 앉아 서로 권하고 같이 먹는 일들에 참여할까봐 이집트인들의 상에 함께 앉지 않고 혼자 상을 차려 앉은 것이다. 그리고 결국 요셉은 상에서 형제에게 음식을 권하고 먹인다! 서로를 죽일뻔한 가족의 비극이 있었지만, 가족의 존재가 요셉은 너무 그리웠다. 구약의 이스라엘은 신약의 영적 이스라엘 교회로써 서로 통한다. 영적 가족이 함께 있으며, 함께 영적 양식을 먹으며 예배를 통해 같은 성령 하나님의 임재를 누리는 영적 가족은 서로의 약점을 떠나 존재 자체로 소중하다. 서로에게 홀로 있지 않는, 분리되거나 고독하지 않을 영적 가족이 되자. 164. Genesis 43:27-34 <The preciousness of the spiritual family> Why did Joseph divide tables into three for himself, his Hebrew brothers and Egyptians? He would have been seated with Egyptians as a prime minister of Egypt if he had thought that Egyptians couldn’t eat with Hebrews, for that was detestable to Egyptians according to the bible. Egyptians couldn’t be hateful for Joseph in charge of all people and the entire land of Egypt. Then, was he seated alone at a different table, separated from his Hebrew brothers who had ignored him and from foreign Egyptians, to show that he was superior to them? No, he wasn’t. He could have thought that he might cross the line due to his uncontrollable emotion of missing the time when he used to have a table with his brothers at his hometown if he had a table with them. Imagine that Joseph who broke down and wept at the moment when he saw Benjamin had a table with his brothers like before. He could not help offering food to them at the table. If he had done so or moved to the Hebrew’s table due to overwhelming emotions, he would have been against Egyptian’s culture. Therefore, he had his own table. But, he ended up filling his brothers’ plates with food from his own table! He missed his family despite the tragedy of almost killing each other among brothers. Israel in the Old Testament is likened to spiritual churches in the New Testament. The members of a spiritual family that gather, eat spiritual food and experience God, the Holy Spirit together through worship services, are precious in spite of their weaknesses. Let’s be a spiritual family to each other that is not separated and lonely.
